In turn, the establishment of the first hot spring inn by Kinzo Takimoto lead to the development of private road construction.<br \/>\n\tIt&#8217;s main name recognition, however, comes later as a result of its designation as the place where the wounded soldiers of the Russo-Japanese war came to rebound their health.  The source of the onsen is now nationally known as &#8220;Okunoyu&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<div>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/en\/img\/spa\/img\/sec6_2.jpg\" alt=\"Okunoyu\" class=\"photo\"><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>\u3010Ooyunuma\u3011<\/dt>\n<dd>Positioned to the north of Jigokudani\uff08Hell Valley\uff09, this explosion crater is just south of Mt. Hiyori and raises a plume of smoke from the boiling pond it has become.The color of its hot water is gray black.  This large scale swamp of hot spring is unprecedented in the world, a precious source of nature as well as carrying a great scientific value.<\/dd>\n<dt>\u3010Okunoyu\u3011<\/dt>\n<dd>This is a part of an explosion crater of Mt. Hiyori called &#8220;Fuki&#8221; which jets gray-black sulfur strongly from the bottom of an oblong-shaped swamp.<br \/>\n\tThe surface temperature of the swamp is very high between 75\u2103 &#8211; 85\u2103, with its front and center areas being most volatile in streaming sulfur.
